I am . . .

Lauren. A Ph.D. student in English (more specifically, creative nonfiction writing). Longing to actually write for a living. Or knit for a living. A newly minted Missourian who will always be a Chicagoan at heart. A schemer with romantic visions of living abroad. Fearful that I’m too much of a planner to ever do such a thing. Obsessed with Milan Kundera and Mark Strand. A self-taught knitter and sewer. A paper artist. An awful cook. A foreign-language person. A wannabe designer. A recycler. A scarf lover. Always cold. An antique store wanderer. Slow, in general. A voracious reader of poetry. A terrible writer of poetry. Thrifty. Crafty. Satisfied easily by the perfect ink pen. Or the perfect word.
